ATTENTION NEW PATIENTS:

We are accepting new prenatal and postpartum patients.

Dr. Sarah and Dr. Daniela block off a few hours each week to see last-minute new patients who are either a) in tremendous pain, b) 36+ weeks or c) breech, transverse or posterior. These extra appointments are not shown in the online calendar. Please call us at 416.960.5656 or email us at hello@drsarah.ca if you are unable to find an online appointment time that works for you.

NB - Please do feel free to book with either Dr. Sarah or Dr. Daniela. Dr. Daniela is basically the brunette, Italian version of Dr. Sarah. She was trained by Dr. Sarah and your treatment will be the same with either practitioner.

When selecting your appointment type for your first visit, please choose "INITIAL PRENATAL or INITIAL POSTPARTUM VISIT", which will block you off for a one hour visit, which is the amount of time we need for your first visit.

Pelvic health physio is for everyone who is pregnant or who has had a baby. Did you know that 1/3 of women in Canada are incontinent? It's common, but it's not normal. It's totally fixable.

Do you have chronic pelvic pain?
Do you pee a little when you cough or sneeze or jump?
Do you find yourself rushing to the bathroom when you have to pee, but not quite making it in time?
Is intercourse painful?
Do things just not look or feel quite like they used to "down there"?
Do you have a chronic sacroiliac joint or hip problem that just refuses to budge with standard treatments?

If you answered yes to any of the above, you need a pelvic physio. Pelvic health physio can help to restore normal function to your pelvic floor and surrounding structures, and get you feeling like yourself again.

Registered Massage Therapy

Carrying a baby inside you changes your center of gravity and puts a lot of stress on your back, neck, abdominal muscles, and shoulders. Pregnancy also relaxes your ligaments, so that your pelvic joints are less stable, and changes your posture, pulling your pelvis forward. Add to that the extra weight you're carrying and you may find you've got aching muscles. Massage therapy during pregnan... Read More

During your postpartum months or “fourth trimester”, acupuncture can relieve tension, assist with sleep, encourage healing, decrease postpartum depression, and help increase milk production. Acupuncture is the process of inserting tiny needles along energy lines in the body. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture balances the body’s systems to achieve overall optimal health. Since it is complementary to other treatments, you can combine acupuncture with any of the other services we provide at West End Mamas.

During the fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum journey we will inevitably take care of our physical selves but it is just as prudent to care for our mental and emotional selves. Even if everything is going well, it’s often a good idea to sit down with a therapist so that tensions don’t become bigger issues. Family relationships are dynamic and we want you to have the tools you need to deal with change, life transitions, and complex times. Individual and couples counselling can help release old wounds, address fears, and combat any small problems before they become big issues.
